I know they call us Sonett organic tablets for dishwashers, but we’re more like Houdini. You pop us in that little plastic compartment in your dishwasher, and before you know it—poof! We’re gone, and your dishes are sparkling clean. Our secret? Soda, silicates, and sulfated castor oil. Plus, we’re completely biodegradable, meaning we disappear into the water safely, leaving no harm to nature. Just a heads-up, we’re best suited for household dishwashers with adjustable water softening, and we’re NOT friends with silver, lead crystal, or hand-painted porcelain, so keep that in mind.

Origin and Properties of the Ingredients
The active ingredients in Sonett dishwasher tabs include soda, silicates, and sorbitan sesquioctanoate (a plant-based detergent). Silicates, created by fusing sand with soda ash, convert grease into water-soluble substances through saponification, making dishes easier to clean. Soda, made from table salt and lime, breaks fat into fine droplets, enhancing the cleaning power of the silicates.Sorbitan sesquioctanoate, derived from corn and wheat starch along with coconut oil, lowers the surface tension of water, allowing it to wet dirt more effectively. Additionally, sodium percarbonate releases oxygen during the wash cycle, aiding in the removal of tea and coffee stains.
Citrate, obtained from the fermentation of by-products like molasses, binds limescale in the rinse water and prevents deposits in the machine. Sodium gluconate, derived from naturally occurring gluconic acids in honey and fruits, enhances the limescale-binding properties, protecting the machine from mineral build-up.
A small amount of cellulose ensures the stability and pressability of the dishwasher tabs.
